Huck embroidery is various
One can use the special huck material (unfortunately, in Germany one receives the special material not finely, only roughly)
or one takes simply Aida fabric.
Even one can take every countable material, if one makes runing stitches.
Especielly suitable is Pearl Cotton. For towels I take Pearl Cotton 8 or 5 or Mouliné Stranded Cotton 3 strands.
I embroider with thin, no point needle.

Example of the embroidery on Aida
Begin the embroidery in the middle, pull the thread half out and embroider the stairs only in one direction.Turn the work and embroider the stairs also in the other direction. Besides, do not sting downwards by the material.
